Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student, as always, has a great attitude as we work together. I think he did great with the material we covered today. We spent our time memorizing the vocab and practicing the conjugation of -AR verbs. I was speaking in full sentences using the vocabulary, and he was able to understand and usually answer my questions in Spanish. We evaluated all the words and thought of ways we could remember what they mean through some types of association to other words (including Latin words - his idea). We played Tic Tac Toe to enforce the vocabulary memorization. We played the dice game to practice the conjugating. He was doing better with the verbs than he did when we practiced for his final."
"Today we covered using the verb tener and possessive adjectives. The student used words like casa, apartemento, perro, gato, masscota, carro, amigos, pelo (color), ojos (color), jardin, hermanos, and bicicleta. She rearranged words that were mixed up to make complete Spanish sentences. She practiced the pronunciation of the consonants f. l, m, n, and p with cognates. She then read a conversation in third-person perspective and answered reading comprehension question, and completed a summary of the conversation. She was assigned some vocabulary homework at the end of the session."
"I tutored the student on how to make words plural in Spanish. We also focused once again on how to properly conjugate regular verbs and stem-changing verbs. We finished by reviewing the steps to conjugating in the simple future tense."
