Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did excellently on the question set I had prepared for this session. Even though she had been doing quite well previously, I was concerned this session would be different. I had given her a different kind of assignment, predicated not just on her having read what I gave her, the 1628 Petition of Right, but also in doing her own background research on the document. My thought in giving her this extra assignment was to prepare her for quite possibly having to do some research in her upcoming class. I also spent a great deal of time talking with her about her class that will start when she returns from vacation and how to approach the beginning of the course."
"The student and I went over the start of the Russian Revolution: 1914-1919. We discussed the causes, the factions involved, abdication of the throne, the impact of the war."
"We prepared for the student's upcoming test. She went through her outline of the chapter to review the material and ask any questions she had, "teaching" me the material to solidify it for herself. I added material where I thought it would be helpful and prompted her to think about bigger-picture connections between the different topics. She has been doing well on the past couple of tests. She has a good grasp on the material and seems well-prepared for the exam."
