"The student said his grade in Spanish has improved from the mid-high 70's to the mid 80's, which is great!! In this session we started by reviewing an in class oral presentation that he has to do tomorrow. I asked him the assigned questions out loud, and then he said out loud the answers that he and his partner had written down. He did really good on this assignment. Next we worked on counting numbers 20-900. We also worked on prepositions (debajo de, al lado de, etc.). I started by asking him to say certain numbers out loud that were given as examples in the book, his homework assignment, and numbers that I made up. Since making flashcards worked for him last time, I had him make flashcards again, and we reviewed them multiple times. Also, for the prepositions, we practiced some hand movements to help remember the words and made sentences using items at the table and describing them using prepositions. Overall he did really well today and seems to have a good handle on the words in this chapter."

"We focused on working on spatial skills. Using a 4x4 grid, I signed a placement and number and the student had to figure out which box I was referring to and write the number in that box. The student did get the hang of this after a little and after I told her the trick that I use. She then took a turn in describing a position and having me write. This was great practice for not only her spatial skills, but also numbers."
