Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked with the student today on frequency tables and determined the relative frequency of a set of numbers. We reviewed the lesson and she worked on practice problems to apply the concept. She did well and had a better understanding of frequency charts and application."
"During this session I helped the student work on algebra. Her homework for this week entailed questions involving substitution equations. For example, using the two equations y=x+1, y=x^2+3x+4, solve for x using the quadratic equation. Once again, she was very well prepared for this homework and only needed my help occasionally."
"The student and I focused on the chapter he is currently on: multiple variable equations and matrices. His understanding of matrices was superb."
"Today we reviewed the material that will be on the student's upcoming test. I went through how to solve the questions on his review packet before answering questions he had about specific topics covered in class."
"We covered new topics, including critical points, inflection points, and L'Hopital's Rule. We did a deep dive into the meaning of critical points coupled with the sign of the derivative in intervals between the points. We covered the meaning of inflection points and the importance of the sign of the second derivative in between inflection points. We also covered the meaning of inflection. We then reconstructed graphs using this information from a function. Also, we analyzed graphs and extracted the information from them."
"We worked on infinite limits this time, focusing on limits of rational numbers and power functions. The student picked up the skills of finding the limits after several examples of polynomials over polynomials. We will keep working on this subject in the next session."
