Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on stem changing (boot) verbs today, mostly on e to i.e. verbs. We also had a long review of the outside vocabulary we've learned up to this point. After that, I left the student with work to write a story using 5 of the new verbs he's learned."
"We reviewed for his finals, translated sentences and focused on grammar. The student made an 81 on his last test. I left him with an online tool so that he could play/study vocab and websites to practice regular verb conjugation."
"Today we covered Christmas-related vocabulary and reviewed our voy a sentences from last week. In addition we did some review and practiced some pronunciation. I left them with two review worksheets to practice over the holidays."
"The student and I were very focused on reviewing for the upcoming final exams. Specifically, we used PowerPoint presentations, notes, games, and flashcards to review for his mid-term exams in science and Spanish classes. He did not finish studying for his Spanish, so I gave him a few techniques to try as he finished preparing. I love working with this young man . He is and will be a really amazing human."
"We began this session by discussing the student's weekend. This gave her an opportunity to practice the past tense. We then reviewed her homework. She identified the imperfect verbs in the first part of the "Cenicienta:" story. After that she identified the imperfect and preterite verbs in the second part of the passage, and we discussed identifying the irregular preterite verbs. I then had her work on a worksheet that compares the imperfect and preterite tenses. While she read the story, she determined which tense the verbs in parenthesis were in."
"The student and I worked a lot on verbs today, specifically on conjugating present tense of irregular verbs that are very common. We practiced how to conjugate them, reviewed conjugations with a memory game and lastly, worked together to write and practice a small dialogue using those verbs."
