Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met for the first time since her final in December. We reviewed the first part of chapter 4, covering exponential and logarithmic functions, including determining asymptotes and the domain/range of each. I also worked with her on graphing these functions and their transformations and she seemed to really get a better hold on the material. We also spent some time on current pre-calc material covered in chapter 6, practicing trigonometric identities. We are meeting again this Sunday to finish reviewing the rest of chapter 4 and catch up on her homework so she can take her quizzes."
"The student has a test coming up next Tuesday. Today, we looked at solving trig functions using several different types of formulas, such as power reducing, double angle, and a few others. He's doing well. We will continue to work through the algebra."
"I met with the student tonight in a quickly scheduled first session because she was concerned about her pre-calculus quiz. We spent time discussing how to interpret equations in the form y = A sin(Bx + C) + D. We will continue working on connecting a variable to its corollary on the graph."
"Tonight, I looked over what should be the student's final assignment over the pre-calculus concepts we have been covering lately. He answered a majority of the questions correctly on his own, and his factoring skills have improved immensely."
"With the student, we continued working on trigonometric functions mainly modeling harmonic motions. We had the opportunity to practice solving problems through her homework. There are no particular concern about her progress."
"We spent the session reviewing trig by the student solving homework problems. We covered trig identities, unit circle, solving for special angles, law of sines and cosines."
