Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I focused on her listening skills this session. While I read a short novel to her in Spanish, she translated the text. Then, I asked her questions regarding the story to check for comprehension and she answered in Spanish."
"Today we reviewed for the student's final by going over vocabulary, grammar, and conjugations. Since he has the questions that will be asked for his final, I advised him to prepare his sentences ahead of time. I also recommended that he continue to review his vocabulary words."
"We studied for the Spanish final. I quizzed the student on grammar and vocabulary. Grammar scores: 86, 92, 88, 95, and 97. Vocab scores: 86, 94, and 98."
"Today we covered preterite vs. imperfect tense extensively. We talked through the basics then delved into the more complex differences. She seemed to need to go over the concept, but quickly picked up what I was teaching her. She got all the practice problems that I gave her right, and it seems like she'll have it mastered by Thursday. She takes care of memorizing conjugations and vocabulary on her own and does really well utilizing them during lessons."
"We reviewed pronouns (normative, objective, and possessive) and discussed indirect object pronouns. He then completed a series of translations, demonstrating considerable progress with conjugations, vocabulary, and 'ser' vs. 'estar'. We will continue to work with pronouns, prepositions, and time. We also reviewed the verb gustar. I asked him to complete two sets of translations in advance for our next session on Thursday."
"We reviewed his homework practicing verb conjugation, asking questions, finding the proper word (word relations) and building sentences with it, as well as finding the correct answer to a question (multiple-choice exercise). The student had the opportunity to speak quite a bit today, and we also worked on his pronunciation. We will work through more practice exercises at our next session."
