"The student focused on Science for the meeting. He wants to make sure his concentration is down before the test, so he did a full length Science section timed to 35 minutes like he'll be doing on the real test. He did not score as well as he did on his last science section but the mistakes were mostly him misreading a graph or the question, so if he can focus his attention for the test he should be able to eliminate those mistakes. He is taking the writing section as well but he scored a 10 on his first essay and knows the basics and mechanics of writing the essay so I am not concerned about covering that in detail. "
"The student and I worked on her reading comprehension. We reviewed her homework questions and questions from additional passages I chose for her. She had no problem with the questions based on facts in the book but needs more practice on interpreting the story and drawing conclusions. In addition to reading, we briefly went over her cursive handwriting. Some of her letters needed more definition and she did a great job of making the corrections I suggested."
"We briefly went through everything she had learned this semester in preparation for her final. She seemed confident in many areas. She had trouble with a few concepts but as soon as I began to remind her, she remembered on her own. She was allowed one note card of notes during the test, so a lot of the tutoring session was spent discussing on how to best prepare her note card."
"The student and I went reviewed one of her quizzes together, focusing on different functional forms of conic sections. We talked about what information the general forms give us, how to derive the general form, and how to match graphs with functions of conic sections. She seems to understand the basic material that will be on her test."
"Worked on oil project. Discussed indications that multiple explanatory variables are correlated. Considered a moving-average price and volatility index. Considered deriving market equilibrium parameters from univariate linear regression. On the gas project, identified central hypothesis. Looked ahead to building a mathematical model, possibly guided by vector autoregression."
