Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed problems out of the ACT review guidebook in preparation for his test in mid June. He approached each question with confidence."
"A review of the homework indicated that math remains the main challenge for him. It seems that he is having difficulty in breaking down the problems and really understanding what each problem is asking. When we work together to parse the meaning, he usually sees it and knows what to do to solve the problem, however, he needs work on using these skills by himself and on basic math. He completed a math section, untimed, during the session. He missed a few questions. More practice is in order here, and that will be addressed in his homework (2 math sections from Practice Test 4 in the blue book). We closed the session with him taking a 30 question basic math quiz I created and discussing how important it is to know basic facts quickly when working SAT-level math problems."
"We worked on the reading section, focusing on vocabulary and how to break down and reconstruct unfamiliar words. We also worked on pre-calc."
