"We did a small chap 13.6 review which went over finding a plane from 3 points. Afterwards we did a chapter 13 review to get the student ready for his test. We started on section 13.1, and got to the end of 13.4. We did a minimal three problems from each section."
"We went over the remaining problems that she had left to review for her exam at the end of the week (on proportion tests, confidence intervals, etc.) The student has a good grasp on the material."
"Today the first student worked on his homework; they were working on classifying triangles and finding the missing angle of a triangle. After he finished I pulled some extra worksheets from my work book on triangles, and we did some mental math worksheets too for some extra practice. Student 2 only had a couple problems on her homework she needed help with, so we got through those without a problem."
"We started by going over his worksheet/homework, which was over quadratics and word problems. After reminding him of some of the concepts, we were able to get through the worksheet without many problems. The questions dealt with getting the vertex, axis of symmetry, and answering a few questions on the curve. He definitely seemed to be more comfortable with the material. After the worksheet, we went over some classwork he had, but didn't do as well, in order to clarify those concepts."
"Today, the student and I went over probability in two major sections: Binomial Expansion with Pascal's Triangle and a random variables expected value. The expected value portion went very well, she seemed to grasp the concept very well. She also understands the ideas behind probability without me having to explain too much. Which means that, next time, we will focus again on permutations, combinations, and Pascal's triangle."
"Student 1 and Student 2 are learning addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers. They will both have a quiz on these subjects on Thursday. I gave them practice problems to work on. Student 1 overall grasped the problems well. Student 2 grasped the problems well also with slight trouble changing mixed numbers to improper fractions. I left them each with a few practice problems and we will continue to address these in our next session."
