Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through the student's most recent homework assignment. The material dealt with statistical analysis, positive and negative z-values, percentiles, and standard deviation. She had a good understanding of the simple aspects of statistics. We covered the basic of statistics to build her understanding to solve the problems."
"Yesterday, the student and I had our first session. We got introduced and worked on her math homework. Her homework involved finding areas of trapezoids. She seemed very comfortable with the math. I taught her ways to simplify the problems and how to recognize which are the bases of the trapezoid. We worked together to solve the riddle at the bottom of the worksheet."
"We reviewed how to solve systems of equations by graphing and using substitution. We then went over how to solve them using matrices. The student was able to convert linear equations into matrices with ease. We worked through several examples from her text book, which she found very helpful. Overall, it was a productive session."
"We went over empirical and molecular formulas for chemistry and transformations and radical review for geometry. Overall, good effort today! It's really amazing to watch the student grasp the concepts so confidently on his own!"
"The student and I worked on trig identities. I was able to help explain where some of the identities came from."
"We went over everything needed for a Chapter 5 test. We went over every concept included in his review sheets. He was really struggling with memorizing the differentiation of the triangle center types, as well as incorporating all of the aspects of the chapter into problem solving. I broke down the information simply and introduced mnemonics. I was drilling him continuously. He is extremely confident as far as triangle measurement possibilities, using a tactic that I personalized for him. He is also confident in the idea that larger angles correspond to larger side lengths, as opposed to smaller angles/smaller side lengths. We also spoke briefly about planning his biology cell project."
