Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered new material on geometric and algebraic series summations and reviewed old material that caused problems on the student's weekly test."
"We went over functions and how to solve and substitute for variables. Then, we looked at how you can relate different equations based on relationships defined in separate formulas."
"We covered more vector analysis problems involving basic classical mechanics scenarios, projections and the angle between two vectors."
"The student and I went over the chapter 1 review from his book, working all the problems he was having trouble understanding."
"In the beginning of the session we discussed the student's main mistakes on last two quizzes. Particularly, we factored polynomial function fourth degree using synthetic division and algebra, and graphed a polynomial function using zeros their multiplicity and ends behavior. Next we determined the coordinate where polynomial function and its horizontal asymptote are intersected, and solve polynomial equation using grouping technique. Next I got the radical equations with one or two radicals algebraically and graphically and checking the answers using the original equation. We solved one applications problem using radicals."
"The student and I focused on application problems, specifically learning how to figure out what the problem is asking for the student to solve. We went over specific phrases and words that she can look out for, and what those phrases and words mean. Her application problems often asked for an exponential equation to be determined from a table of data, so we practiced using Excel to create a scatter plot graph, then use the trendline to provide an equation. She was feeling more confident with the equations by the end of the session, and she was able to complete four different homework problems correctly."
