"Today we used one Teacher's review packet that included many items including: -fraction questions within story problems -locating fractions on the timeline and using in many ways (story problems) -multiplying fractions and using that to multiply money -changing fractions to decimals and using them to line them up lowest to highest and vice versa. Good work!"
"Today the student and I worked on correcting some problems that she missed on some math assessments/exercises. With a little extra refreshment of terms and a quick review of the meanings of symbols (symmetry, greater than/less than/equal to, inches vs. centimeters), the student was able to see the ways she erred and successfully rework the problems. There was one subject- money - that was more of a struggle for the student. We spent a long time reviewing the differences between cents, dollars, pennies, nickels, dimes, etc. I took out some coins from my purse and we worked with the tangible objects, but I think the student still has not grasped this subject in math. I hope this is an area we can continue to work at."
"The student and I worked on her work from yesterday. We focused on trigonometric ratios and the unit circle. Some of it was confusing for her, but I think we worked it out. She did a good job and completed her entire assignment correctly!"
"The student worked through a module with proportions and unit rate. We reviewed practice problems and I presented the student with some examples of my own. The student feels fine with working with proportions, but isn't very comfortable with unit rates just yet. I gave the student a link to practice questions regarding unit rate."
"During this session we went through the rest of the Chapter review packet that we worked on last session. The student seemed to apply the items we worked on last session nicely to the remaining problems. We then worked through the Chapter 11 Self-Assessment and he also did quite well working through them on his own. If I were him, I would focus on a review of complex numbers before the test."
"We went through calculator strategies, including command syntaxes for each major discrete and continuous random variable covered in the course. We tackled binomial, geometric, and hypergeometric types in depth, and went through several problems and discussed solving strategies with each."
