Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had completed her second SSAT practice test. We went through and corrected the problems she got wrong. For math, we went over: fractions, finding the circumference and area of a circle, finding the area of a triangle, setting up ratios, using logic to narrow the number of possible answers, and conversion among percent, decimals, and fractions. Her long division and math facts are solid. We worked on vocabulary in and out of the practice tests, reviewed verbal analogies and worked on how she needs to interpret them. It was a very solid session, and we will do more with reading comprehension next time."
"The student and I went over his math practice test results today. We went through the ones he missed as well as ones that he got right but may have guessed on. The questions seemed to be a lot clearer to him today than on Wednesday, so that makes me feel confident in his abilities for the SSAT. He was able to recognize different ways to do problems and was able to do much of the math in his head. We will focus on reading and verbal on Wednesday before he takes the test on Saturday."
"We went over a lot of reading comprehension. I made sure to go over all of the skills pertaining to researching, summarizing and taking notes on a reading comprehension exam. We went over an extensive amount of skill and techniques and it seems that he is making progress."
