"The student and I worked on solving problems in 2-dimensions. We focused specifically on forces and inclined plane problems."
"The student is a quarter of the way through a two-course intensive physics track. She has done extremely well on the first test (she got a 97). I know that the subject will get more challenging as the course progresses, but I see my role with her more as making sure she is on track and explaining some of the more difficult concepts. While reviewing her homework on linear momentum, I really emphasized the conceptual basis of the formulas that she knew so well already, and I think she appreciated this extra bit of discussion. We were done relatively quickly, so we moved to talking about the MCAT. The test date is rather close, so I set her on the task of taking a "blind" practice MCAT test and to review some of the verbal passages, which I know can be quite tricky. She is bright and a good student, so I know she is capable of doing well on the test."
"We reviewed optics and thin lenses (converging and diverging lenses). The student needed some review/practice with the thin lenses equations and ray diagrams. We also practiced graphing circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas."
