Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was our final session before he takes the test on Saturday. I went over essay structure with him, something I knew he didn't need much help with in the first place. He seemed very familiar with essay structure and didn't need much help. We spent the bulk of the session reviewing math content. He was pretty rusty when it came to finding the area of triangles, so I assigned some work for him to do during the week."
"The student did very well today! We did a punctuation exercise, and it's so easy to see how much he's improving on his mechanics. I also had him write an essay on the ideal sibling. He did so well! His length and incorporation of detail has improved tremendously!"
"The student and I worked through a new prep book. Her mother informed me that the exam the student would be taking, while similar to an ISEE/SSAT, would contain a limited selection of content. The student and I then worked through the prep book, focusing on math and reading comprehension questions. We also worked on some vocabulary and a few exercises which we timed. She is moving through the timed questions at a reasonable pace. I suggested to her mother that they work on some of the drills in the book to keep the content and skills fresh. The student and I are going to do a practice exam at our next session."
