Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on a study guide homework packet assigned by the student's teacher covering the material for the whole year. This included compound nomenclature, balancing reactions, using ideal gas laws, learning about the periodic table and types of bonding, electron configurations, and going over vocabulary. This was the first session, but the student seemed to be really understanding and gaining confidence in material that she previously didn't get. I was impressed that she had gone through and completed the problems she could do ahead of time. She struggled the most with applying math concepts to word problems in chemistry, but was improving significantly as we went."
"We went over insoluble salts, their disasiation properties, ability to precipitate in solution, unsaturated vs saturated vs supersatured solution, the effect of pH on saturation, and the common ion effect."
"We covered quantum numbers (n, l, m, s), orbital configuration, electron configuration, electronegativity, atomic size, nuclear charge, effective nuclear charge, and review of quantum mechanics terms."
