Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we completed a worksheet on integrals. Topics on the worksheet included both definite and indefinite integrals as well as Riemann sums and calculation of integrals from graphs. She will definitely master the concepts with a little more practice. We will continue to work on these problems in our future session."
"The student had started learning methods of solving logarithmic equations, so our session was focused on a few worksheets of practice problems on this material. He had a quiz the next day, so I spent the first 15 minutes or so reviewing the general formulas and concepts he needed, and then the remainder of the time was spent doing practice problems. Once I walked him through a few of each type of problem, he was comfortable talking me through the rest."
"The student did not have homework today, so we did some math review pages that I brought. We focused on statistics concepts like finding the mean, mode, and range of a data set. Some of the practice problems were purely computational and some were word problems. He understands very well. He performed very well during our time together."
"We reviewed data distribution and describing variables. The student already had the basics mastered (identifying center, spread, shape), but was having trouble properly describing and comparing them in proper fashion. I showed her how all the models for describing such statistics and how to compare different magnitudes. I also had to go into detail about the difference in relative and cumulative frequencies as presented in data as well as graphs. We ended the session going over examples from the AP exam to help her sharpen her skills as she prepares for the upcoming quiz on Tuesday."
"For this session, the student practiced adding double and single digits to 20, adding single digits to 10, and adding single digit numbers using the counting up method. He has shown good progress as he is now able to count by 2s up to 20. He is still practicing on adding his double numbers, but he is starting to understand the pattern. He is able to add using the counting up method, however he does not consistently use this method. We will continue to practice these concepts in our next session."
"Today was the first session after the student started school again. We covered a lot of topics today, like some addition, subtraction, division, and started decimals. She got the hang of decimals pretty quickly. She's still doing well."
