"The student was unable to finish all of the sections and homework I assigned him due to final exams. His parents are back in town this week, so we can sync up on his progress and what he needs to do in the next few weeks to get as high a score as possible. His writing is good, but his examples for essays are still very limited. This requires more reading of news articles, and we've already addressed strategies for that. His score improvement is going to depend on how much practice he's able to do from now until SAT date."
"The student and I went over mostly math. I spent some time explaining the concept of functions and symbols that represent them."
"The students and I worked on both vocabulary and grammar questions. In order to help them understand the meanings of more words, they wanted to learn meanings of prefixes they might see, so I had them copy down the list of them that I have. Student A said that the prefixes that she has already learned have helped her understand more of the words for English class, which I am glad about. We also worked on the grammar questions where you have to find which underlined part of a sentence is grammatically incorrect. I explained the reason behind some of the incorrect answers so that they shouldn't miss them on the real SAT. Finally, we went over some vocabulary questions themselves, where I had them copy down any words that they didn't know so that they can look them up and learn them for the next time I see them. Student B also handed me the essay she had written from one of the practice exams they had taken, but since I didn't have enough time to review it during their session, I will be reviewing it at home and emailing her my notes on it instead."
