Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During the session together, the student and I worked hard on preparing him for his math test by going over graphing systems of equations as well solving for systems of equations. By the end of the session he had a very clear understanding of the material, so I trust he's going to do very well on the test. I did leave him with some practice problems that he was going to do with his parents. Both of the boys got 100% on their most recent science test. As always, this is a very productive session. I look forward to working with them both soon."
"The student is prepping for the her test on Friday and Monday so we worked through problems on her packet and talked about what to focus on for the test. We talked about how to read the questions and think about what they are asking especially when the questions use language that she is not used to. I talked to her about focusing on the problems she does know how to solve and to set things up in a way that makes sense even if she has issues solving the problem."
"The student had an exam recently, so we spent our time preparing which including reviewing topics such as factoring polynomials, finding the GCF (greatest common factor) of polynomial functions, and several others."
"I went over word problems involving multi-step equations with the student, along with similar solids. With the word problems he did a great job showing all his work, which allowed us to correct his small mistakes. He did well with similar solids too, and I will be sending additional practice."
"We returned to calculus review. Things mostly went fine. We had to spend a lot of time reviewing discontinuities and trigonometry. I introduced the student to inverse trigonometric functions and the trig table for common angles."
"Today the student and I continued our study of algebra. We also reviewed some arithmetic that he will be encountering this year and will prepare him for great success in algebra. Nothing is more important than a strong foundation."
