Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did well on his comprehension test. We prepared for his interview and topics for his paper. I requested that he write a first draft of the paper for my review on Thursday, as it is due Monday. This is a large portion of his final grade, so we will spend a lot of time on it."
"We reviewed verb conjugations that involve e->ie, o->ue, and e->i conjugations and wrote sentences using such verbs. The student knew how to conjugate the verbs. She also completed a math worksheet on ratios, in which she practiced understanding and writing ratios in three different forms. She did it perfectly!"
"This session, we started off with how to tell time and the date. After the student mastered this, we went over location phrases (on top of, below, etc.). Lastly, we read a children's story to practice reading and pronunciation. Again, the student is doing phenomenally well and grasps concepts very quickly. Next session, we will continue reading and possibly do a translation."
"We reviewed previously learned material and worked on new verbs. I also gave the student a new set of verbs to study before our next meeting. He continues to have a great attitude and shows a real interest in learning the language."
"We covered the past tense, including both the preterite and imperfect tenses. I covered the basic concepts with the student, and then we discussed many short exercises that went over verb conjugations in these tenses. I worked with him on using context clues to determine how to conjugate verbs. I also went over a lot of new vocabulary with him so that he will be able to better piece together sentences."
"We reviewed the alphabet, numbers, greetings, and some verb conjugation. We then covered likes with gustar. The students are always willing to practice and are hardworking. We recorded the alphabet song and decided to write up their daily routine for homework. The students made a lot of ground with numbers, the alphabet, and concepts covered in the previous session."
