Tutoring review by Aunaly in Kellyville, OK
We started by working a little on her visual essay for language arts. We then moved onto geometry. She has a test tomorrow and needed to make a flashcard summarizing the different topics that she could use on her exam. The first part of the chapter was finding the area of various shapes using different formulas. The next part involved finding the area of irregular shapes by counting the squares of the grid the irregular shape was placed on. The last part was finding the probability of something happening given the number if times tried and how often the event occurred. We also went back through her review packet and reworked the problems she missed. She thoroughly understands the material that will be on her exam.

Tutoring review by Greg in Kellyville, OK
The student had a homework assignment due on Friday, so we focused our time on working through the problems. The first half of the assignment covered practicing u-substitution and integration by parts. She was a bit rusty on how to set up these problems. After a few questions, she seemed to get in a bit of a rhythm. There were a couple of particularly difficult problems that involved making a u-substitution before doing integration by parts. We managed to work through them. The second half of the homework focused on a new technique - improper integrals - that we haven't worked on together before. I was able to work through two of these with her as example problems. Solving improper integrals involves substituting u for infinity (or whatever the improper limit is) and taking the limit of the integral as u goes to infinity. It's been a long time since we've had to use limits, so they seemed foreign and confusing to her. In addition to the example problems we did, I sent her a couple of videos that do a good job of explaining how to do improper integrals. Coming up, the student has a most of her final exams next week, and then her math final exam is the following week. We will probably meet two more times ahead of her final exam.

The student and I reviewed for his algebra final that would take place the following day. He seems to be very well prepared and feels confident about the content. He and I discussed testing strategies that he can implement to save time and make his test taking easier. He seems very strong with linear functions and graphing quadratics.

Tutoring review by Zhan in Kellyville, OK
First we reviewed everything we did last session, including pinyin, numbers and basic greetings. I also tested them on the writing of numbers 1-10, which they did pretty well. Today we moved on learning more pinyin. We learned g, k, h, j, q, and x. They also learned how to count and write numbers from 11 all the way to 99! I also extended their greeting phrases. Today's conversation topic were: "how are you?" "good/no good" "you're welcome" "sorry" and "it's ok." The homework is to memorize how to count from 1-99, and practice greetings and new sentences. Good lesson today!

During the first session we went over questions on the student's previous exam on work and energy. Overall, this session went well. During the second session, we went over a practice exam on angular momentum and torque. We got through most of the questions. I think he definitely got a lot out of this session. Overall, this session went well.
