"The student and I covered a wide range of practice quizzes. He is developing a good understanding of the difference between ser and estar along with some other difficult hurdles for Spanish learners."
"We began with a conversation on greetings. I asked her to talk about her present life and her past life as a child. I assigned a movie for her to watch and we discussed it in the session, exploring the themes, characters and major ideas of the film. I led her through a guided conversation using vocabulary about school and learning. Then we went through a series of topics to finish the conversation practice. She's doing excellent, no concerns from this session."
"We began, as usual, by making time estimates for the student's homework for the night, as well as prioritizing the assignments. I helped him as he worked on a humanities worksheet as well as a science study guide. In both cases, he had a pretty good grasp of the material. We moved on to Spanish, for which he had a test study guide to complete. He has a solid grasp of the vocabulary he's learned in class."
"The student's Chinese has improved a lot! She can understand a lot more now, but she still doesn't speak confidently as much as she actually could. We did some conversation in the beginning and played Chinese chess while reviewing some of the words she has learned before. After the game, we started read the "animal book" I brought from China. She enjoyed reading a lot. We reviewed many things in the book and identified some words and followed the text and read long. Good lesson!"
