"In preparation for the student's midterm, we focused on a review of several key items: vocab to describe physical characteristics and personality; how to phrase sentences describing yourself/another person; conjugations of regular and irregular verbs in the present and preterite tenses; use of set vs. estar and the conjugations of both these verbs; using a +el/la to describe location; como (no accent) vs. como (with accent over the 1st o). We worked on creating a study guide and also practiced conversation."
"Today we covered the preterite vs. imperfect past tense. When to use the preterite and when to use the imperfect is one of the challenges for students because they are both in the past, but are used in different situations. For the student's midterm exam this is a big emphasis, therefore we went over a few exercises. In addition, we went over the present tense because it will most likely be part of her test. I recommend that she makes flashcards and memorize them, and they will improve her comprehension level as well."
"The student and I studied the first two pages of the vocab that he's going to get quizzed on this week. Also, we did a little intro to the grammar lesson of the week so he can familiarize himself with it before the teacher goes over it. I suggested that he review the vocab a few times before the quiz and memorize the irregular verbs of the lesson."
