Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student reviewed fraction concepts learned so far to prepare for the upcoming state test. She completed the tasks with 100% accuracy."
"The student and I went over her Geometry homework from the previous week and moved onto the next section. Her homework was about sin, cos, tan, and the new material was about the measure and length of arcs. She had a positive attitude and quickly picked up on concepts that she hadn't seen before. Strategies left were nuanced (i.e.. how to better use a calculator, deriving equations through common sense rather than blindly following formulas, etc.)."
"The student and I started with her homework assignment on the Pythagorean Theorem, the Converse Theorem and determining obtuse and acute triangles based on their lengths. She also worked on plotting points and determining whether the triangles were right based on the distance formula and the Converse Theorem."
"We reviewed previous homework assignments. We focused in on evaluating how to determine the null and alternative hypothesis and how to report the results from an analysis. I gave the student some suggestions with regard to how to approach potential test problems. We agreed to meet again to discuss the binomial distribution."
"Today, we covered Chapters 7 and 9 in the textbook, which are on the Central Limit Theorem, confidence intervals, and application of hypothesis testing and confidence intervals to sample distributions. I suggested to her that she do some practice exams by other instructors some time before the final exam. Overall, the student benefitted a lot from my instruction."
"We reviewed some hypothesis testing problems for the student's upcoming test and previewed her final project. I advised her on data collection methods and how to start her project and we will continue next week."
