Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the assigned class vocabulary by reading it aloud to practice his pronunciation and then by asking questions where either the question itself included the vocabulary or the answer required the world to be in it. For homework, he needs to watch episode 2 of the sitcom 'Extra' (e-mailed to parents)."
"We covered the subjunctive tense rules and conjugations. The student is struggling with subject/verb agreement as well as endings. He had a positive attitude and would like to improve. I included some strategies such as the use of flashcards for vocabulary, daily review, and methods to learn the conjugations better. I will continue to follow on his improvement. I offered to write a study schedule for him to follow."
"We went over vocabulary specifically for her verbal test tomorrow. We went over the different verb tenses that can be used in a verbal test. She just needed to review the endings of the verbs. She was a little concerned with her pronunciation, but she really did a great job. I did go over different types of questions, and she did well."
"During this session, I reviewed all of chapter 6 exercises with the student. I also had her complete exercises 7.1-7.2. She did very well in all the exercises we reviewed. For homework, I asked her to finish Unidad 3 and to complete exercises 11, 12, and 14 from chapter 3 of the Spanish Grammar Drills book."
"The student and I began working through his end of term final, reviewing ser vs. estar, translating sentences, reviewing past participles, adjectives, REV MACPHEE i.e. irregular participles, preterite vs. imperfect and so on. He did an excellent job with preterite vs. imperfect!!"
"We covered the difference between the verbs saber and conocer, and we practiced translations with the verb gustar. The student will complete work in his book for next week to finish out present tense verb conjugations."
