"The student just scored a 98.5% on his Wave and Sound Exam last week! Very good momentum to build on, and he is very interested in his new focus: Circuits! He has gone over Coulomb's Law, V, I, R, Power and simple circuits with resistors in series. We talked a lot about the physical phenomena that occur when current moves through circuits. He was grasping all the concepts with high comprehension, so I moved on to circuits with resistors in parallel. He liked the challenge and at the end of the session, we got to tackle one concept ahead. He is having fun with it!"
"We went over the student's exam, specifically the problems he missed. He has a tendency to jump to an answer quickly without first thinking if there are better alternatives, and he was missing some knowledge on key concepts. I helped him reason through the questions he missed, and think about biology concepts critically so he can better understand and apply them. I suggested he read his biology book before his exam since many questions require facts pulled out of the text, and the only way get the proper information is to read! Reading for biology is paramount for success."
"We covered topics 11 and 13 in the student's book, which included solids, liquids and gas phases and phase changes and briefly touched upon solutions. He has been studying all the theory on his own and he is now understanding the material much better! For tomorrow, he needs to go over the most important aspects and solve as many practice problems as possible."
