Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a quiz tomorrow on Northern Renaissance Art, so we used the PowerPoint from her teacher and looked up any terms she did not know. I made notes for her to use while she studies the PowerPoint slides from the review sheet that was provided."
"The end of spring break finds us covering early Japanese art. The student used the AP review book as a guide to how the material would be treated. There is a lot of information to remember and he is committed to daily study in the final days and weeks before the AP exam."
"The student is writing the final Integration Paper for her current graduate seminar. This week we are covering how to interpret the instructions for this assignment and approach writing a paper which is in many ways a compilation of previous work. The main challenge for her will be synthesizing her previous work into a format expected by the professor. The instructions for this assignment are a little tricky since they are split between multiple documents and may be hard for the student to decipher. This session includes pre writing consultation as well as consultations needed during the writing and editing process."
"The student is currently studying a chapter on sexual morality in his theology class for this upcoming week, so we primarily focused on discussing that chapter in particular. We were able to discuss all of the chapter review questions, and he finished his first two assignments or the class as well. Also, we prepared the material in light of his upcoming final."
"The student is in excellent shape for her exam tomorrow. We spent the session finishing the study guide and reviewing the information we had already gathered and discussed. She remembers the material well and makes connections extremely well. She feels confident for the exam."
"Today we covered the split between Roman and Byzantine, the beginning of the Middle Ages, some of the important trading issues in the period, and the rise of Islam. We also reviewed study methods that are effective for the AP exam. I suggested some review and practice for the student to work on before our next session on Thursday. He is a great student and picks things up quickly, and I am optimistic about the AP exam."
