Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered what a polynomial is, monomials, binomials, and trinomials. We went over standard form and what a leading coefficient is, and we finished the lesson by adding polynomials. The student said that there may be a quiz next week, so we'll be sure to go over adding polynomials at the beginning of next lesson to make sure he has grasped it."
"Today we finished going over Bayes' theorem. After that we started going over the student's review for his exam. We are going to meet the day before his exam to finish the review and go over all the material one more time."
"We covered integration by parts, partial fractions, and the fundamental rule of calculus. The student was engaged in learning what went wrong in the quiz we were going over and correcting his mistakes. There weren't any major issues, just a few missteps here and there and some confusion on where to proceed with solving the problem at certain places. He was clear on each issue when the session ended."
"The student and I continued to work on dilations and transformations. We also discussed scatter plots and how to interpret them, finding best fit lines, finding an equation for best fit lines, and the significance of the data points. We also discussed coming up with real world situations that could explain examples of scatter plot data that appeared to have a strong correlation and also data that did not seem to have a strong correlation."
"We went through 3D shapes, electronegativity, and bonding between atoms. It took a little bit to understand different bondings and why molecules have certain characteristics. I asked him to look over the material more before we continue with the lesson."
"In this session, the student and I went over solving and graphing both exponential and logarithmic functions. In this session, we had more information to cover than the week before, and he seemed more focused. Overall, I think it was a good session."
