Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started off by going over a few simple derivative problems such as position/velocity. The student knows the concepts really well. I found that when I drew a quick sketch of the problem, she could very easily come to the correct answer. She is very bright and picks up on small mistakes very quickly."
"The student and I went over a couple of in class problems he had, and then we went over the sums for arithmetic and geometric sequences. He initially struggled a little with the sum of a finite geometric sequence, but we soon realized he was making a calculator mistake and solved the issue. He did a tremendous job with the sequences and is very eager to learn more."
"The student and I covered some new material on determinants. We looked at several methods of solving for determinants of larger matrices and worked through a good number of problems. I was very excited that she scored a 97 on her first test!!! The material will remain challenging, but I am confident that she will continue to do well if she continues approaching the course in the way that she is now!"
"Today we went over the student's first exam. Since she scored a 98, we only had to review a technical error from her exam. For the rest of the session, we worked on practice problems to cover logarithmic functions."
"It was a really good review of L'Hopital's rule, improper integrals, and sequences. In the beginning, the student was unsure on what to do, but with subtle encouragement, he got the processes down. He needs to review some basic integration and derivatives before the test, but he should do fine."
"Today, we reviewed integration techniques. We used u substitution and reviewed mean value theorem and Rolle's theorem. The student was eager to learn the material and understood it well."
