" We covered vectors, solving and converting them. She struggled most with converting rectangle to polar coordinates. Once we went over a few examples, she was fine. She has been pretty good with this subject, She understands it well. We went over a few ways to quickly convert polar to rectangle. It's the end of the year, She didn't have much more work. We went over her complete worksheet. She has been great all year!"
"First we did introductions. Then we looked at the online platform and started going over each section individually. We went over estimating areas of a given functions using Riemann sums. Then we went over Sigma notation. We decided meeting 2 times a week would be beneficial. The student is very bright and I feel he will do well in the class."
"The student completed her first tutoring session aimed at improving her pre-algebra skills. During the session, she and the tutor reviewed a number of topics including Cartesian planes, input-output tables, and evaluating algebraic expressions. She completed a number of practice problems pertaining to each of the aforementioned topics and the tutor provided assistance, when necessary. Throughout the session, she displayed a positive attitude toward learning and work diligently to complete each assigned task."
"We covered linear equations, involving single and double variable applications types of questions. The student worked online homework problems involving finding possible dimensions with quadratic equations given length, width, area, and perimeter by hand and by graphing. There were also problems that we dealt with involving direct and indirect variations."
"In today's session, the student and I did an overview of Differential and Integral Calculus. We also brushed over classifications of Ordinary Differential Equations; this was just an introduction and will be expanded on in the upcoming session. For homework, I gave the student a Calculus I final exam that he is to complete so that I can gauge his level of understanding of Calculus. This was a great session, and I look forward to the next one."
"The student wanted to a get a jumpstart on his homework and studies for his second exam, covering the second chapter in his class: vector-valued functions and their properties. He is well-disciplined, and works hard to achieve a solid performance in the class. He earned a B on his first exam last week and I expect he'll do better on the second this coming week. He knows the basic computational techniques best, though when analyzing graphs of curves and their Cartesian or parametric forms he falls short. Our sessions next week will clear up any confusion he has regarding the graphs of vector-valued functions. They can be tricky especially since they are multifaceted in their properties, having both form and direction in a sense. I'll see the student next on Tuesday."
