Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I covered with the student simplifying trigonometric half-angle and double-angle expressions, verifying trigonometric identities, and I also reviewed her class homework assignment based on the concepts covered."
"We covered vector components, applications of vectors (e.g. dot products, force-work), and magnitudes of vectors by solving book problems that were not covered by the teacher's homework. The student is mainly struggling with basic concepts and solving problems according to the basic rules and principles, which I'm sure that he would improve on with regular reinforcement through tutoring. He is conscientious toward what he learns - he just needs a nudge in the desirable direction. Since this was my first session and he identified extra practice for skills mastery as his priority, I made sure he got the drills on basic concepts and applications of them in solving practice problems. The biggest win from this session was that I see his potential to improve a lot and most importantly, he has a commendable attitude toward studying."
"In today's session, the student completed the first two sections of unit 2 for her government class, including a quiz and 2 homework assignments. She is now at about 13% completion for the class and we have about a week and a half before she needs to be at 20%. We will make sure to keep up with her math homework, but the priority this week needs to be that she complete this government unit."
"The student is still working on polynomials. He finds them pretty easy, which is refreshing, but he actually doesn't know as much as he thinks, so my struggle has been to get him to realize that. Still, the change in attitude is refreshing. He has a quiz on Monday, so I helped him review basic concepts and went over some problems with him."
"We discussed the sections of the book that will be covered on the student's final. I used her book to pick out practice problems for the next session. We also worked on the material they are currently covering."
"This time, we looked at more conversions in chemistry - including from moles to liters or moles to grams and vice versa. Then, we looked at some trigonometry problems involving cosine waves and finding the exact function by examining a graph."
