Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a test this week over polynomials, and tonight we got almost all the way through his study guide, revisiting polynomial arithmetic, factoring, synthetic division, graphing, and exponent properties."
"We worked on angle and segment construction techniques using a compass and ruler. The student constructed these on her paper to submit. We talked about how to label each element she constructed and how they differed from each other."
"The student and I worked on preparations for her upcoming exam in addition to review over her most recent test score. She expressed that she felt inadequately prepared by her teacher for the last test and wanted further assistance in understanding the last test's material. We focused on reviewing circle identities, identifying underlying any conceptual mistake on her last test, and reviewing strategies for succeeding on her upcoming test. She maintained an excellent attitude throughout the session."
"We reviewed for the student's chapter test on proving theorems on congruence postulates. We covered Side-Side-Side (SSS), Angle-Side-Angle (ASA), Side-Angle-Side (SAS), and Angle-Angle-Side (AAS). She had a worksheet to work on from her Math class, so we worked on problems on given congruent triangles - identifying common sides or angles. Afterwards, we worked on examples from online for extra practice on proving theorems. I gave her various problems on congruence postulates - SSS, AAS, SAS, and ASA."
"The student and I worked on her Skills Checks 8 and 9 today. She seems to understand the overall concepts and just mixes up some of the details. We went over common errors multiple times tonight, so I'm very positive about her abilities. Good job today!"
"During this session the student completed one of his geometry packets covering proofs and angle theorems. We moved on to the second packet and he was doing very well with the materials. I have requested that he show more work on the problems as to not make simple mistakes."
