Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During the session, we ran roughly two practice tests and discussed. He is very successful in his calculations, and very rarely makes errors. The binomial series was quite simple for him as was estimating sums with an error ranges. At this point, the best thing that he can do for himself is to make sure that he gets an adequate amount of rest and food in his stomach before he goes to take the exam. I have full faith that he will do very well on this exam."
"The student and I prepped for her upcoming math test. We worked on matrices, systems of equations, and graphing. She did a good job!"
"During our session, the student and I completed an online homework assignment that was due in class later in the week. The main topic that we covered during our session was factoring polynomials into its simplest form. She did very well during our session and is continuing to progress well in her course."
"Topics covered: parametric equations, lines in space, vector equations and parameterization of lines in space, the time parameter and its uses for lines in space. Progress with the student is moving efficiently, in terms of understating concepts and problem solving strategies."
"The student and I continued to work on money by completing some problem solving practice. She had to decide if the customer had enough money to purchase items at a diner. We continued to work on making different values with only a certain amount of coins."
"Today, we covered a review for her final exam. Specifically, we covered making a normal to the plane made by 2 vectors on the plane (made from 3 points in the plane). We were only able to get through a few of the problems."
"The student has a math test coming up, so we reviewed the chapter, which was about algebraic inequalities. She did a great job on the homework with a few minor mistakes and seemed to have a good grasp of the material. I also read a composition she was writing and clarified complex and simple sentences for her."
"We went over the student's first test from the beginning of the semester. She was struggling the most with limits, both analytically and graphically. After a few more examples, I saw a light bulb go off in the student's head, and she has a much better grasp of the topic now. I will be sending over some extra analytical limit evaluation practice problems and accompanying solutions."
"In preparation for the final, we reviewed the last two tests and discussed the major concepts that he missed. Specifically, we discussed a population distribution, the distribution of sample data, the sampling distribution, random variables, and how to combine the standard deviation of two random variables. We will meet again tomorrow to review more concepts and make sure he has a firm understanding as he goes into the final."
"In our most recent session, we covered the first half of her semester review assigned by her algebra teacher. She did great in our review and also informed me that the information on her previous exam that I covered with her was the easiest portion of the exam. I am fully confident that she will do great on her semester exam."
"We continued to review material for the midterm, specifically chapter 6 which covers logarithms, completing the square, and graphing functions. He seems to have a strong understanding of the material and is able to recall topics / think through problems he is initially stuck on."
"The student is in a pre-algebra class. He has a pretty good grasp of working with positive whole numbers but is on shakier ground when it comes to negative numbers and variables. His teacher provided him with a study guide, so we spent most of the time filling that out as well as discussing what he can do on his own to bolster his math knowledge."
