"I missed interacting with students and helping others in areas they have difficulty in. I currently tutor all levels of high school math, science, SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT and essay writing. I am a strong believer in guiding students into the right direction so they can find the answer on their own. Students will not recall or learn properly if all the answers are given to them."

"I personally improved my score by 250 points in just two sections with a little personal study. I believe strongly that anyone who learns the structure, nuances, focuses, and limits of the SAT can not only improve their score but earn perfect scores like I did on the creative reading and writing multiple-choice sections. Students spend hours on regular coursework that prepares them for the SAT but very little time studying the actual test, which is surprisingly predictable and limited in scope. Many of these principles also apply to the ISEE, PSAT, and Iowa Test of Basic Skills." ...

" I also work with students on Spanish, ISEE, SSAT, SAT Prep, and collegiate level courses. As a chemical engineering student at UPenn, I learned the importance of having a great tutor firsthand. Some of my professors were not that interested or particularly talented at teaching the material, so I turned to the TAs, who were graduate students in my major. They were incredibly helpful and provided a fresh perspective with keen insight that I couldn't have gained from simply reading the textbook. Most importantly, I experienced a role-reversal in which I was being tutored." ...

" During my senior year, I researched and compared the educational systems and conditions faced by Chinese migrant children and those faced by undocumented children in America. As a long time athlete, I understand the value of coaching and teamwork. " I have a proven track record for student achievement. One of my students achieved the highest score in her school on the Social Studies State Exam. In addition, my students improved by 30% after only 20 tutoring hours (on average, comparing pre-assessment and post-assessment scores). I have experience tutoring grades 1-8, but I really shine with elementary students. "Chem). In the past I have worked with elementary school aged children as well as high school peers! While at UNC I tutored at a human rights center, which helped elementary school students with homework, test prep etc. In addition while a calculus student in high school, I had the privilege of tutoring a few students in pre-calculus and Algebra and absolutely loved it! These students all ended the class with A's. On another note, as a future teacher myself, I hope to implement more effective teaching methods. As a student I struggled with the dull lecturing that most classes provided, so I would love to use more visual and handson techniques ...
