Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered two actual test practice sessions. Nothing to note grade wise. She was just a little rusty because she hasn't had time to practice with finals and graduation around this time. The next few weeks before the tests she will be doing a lot of practice and tests. No concerns."
"During this session we focused on the "grouping" type of logic games. We completed five games as practice and discussed strategies for time management and accuracy. I focused on the importance of preparatory subsets for a variety of games and strategy for prioritizing answer options. We finished with a "pure sequencing" game type."
"This was primarily a diagnostic session. Sequencing games of escalating difficulty were covered. One grouping game was covered. The student exhibited strong analytical abilities and it is clear that he will progress quickly."
"We covered Logic Games, including specific games and examples of logical inferences. Students instructed to keep practicing under timed conditions."
"We covered diagramming advanced linear logic games and reviewed Necessary Assumptions and practiced Strengthen questions. I emphasized a methodical approach and guided the student through diagramming four games. She has readings and test sections to complete."
"Since the student's test prep class has begun, I've moved into an advisory/trouble-shooting role with our tutoring sessions. Today, the questions we considered were related: how much thinking to do up front in a logic game and how to "see" the best sketch for a game. We worked through a few hypotheticals; then we proceeded to do the famous "mulch/stone" game from PrepTest 60 and two sequencing/ordering games from PT62. She is going to keep following the test prep plan and do at least one full length test before we meet next week."
