"The student and I went over Pablo Neruda's Poema a los poetas populares and created the outline for an essay that compares the Chilean poetas populares to the juglares of the middle ages and the corrido singers of the Mexican Revolution. We also went over a homework assignment on the subjunctive for an upcoming exam."
"The student and I began reviewing the second act in the play she is reading for class. I helped her find answers and analyze questions assigned by her teacher. I also clarified some vocabulary and helped her picture the setting of the play during different events."
"Our first class went really well. We started with a warm up, then discussed the student's goals for our classes. She is a financial advisor and needs to be able to speak with clients and present in Spanish. We then did a grammar lesson on ser vs estar, and she did excellently. From there we discussed correspondence and wrote both formal and informal emails. We finished with an article and discussion on the effect technology and social media has made on our society. She did really well and I'm looking forward to our classes."
"Today, Student 1 and I went through a homework assignment on the subjunctive. This was just an introduction, and he did really well. Next, Student 2 and I worked on a few pages out of her workbook for homework. They covered indirect object pronouns and some new vocabulary about traveling."
