Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked with the student to study for her final. We managed to cover about half of the topics for the semester. As usual, she did very well."
"We worked through a review sheet for her final exam, and completed a diagram of a house with Spanish labels for the rooms and the things in the rooms."
"During this session, the student and I reviewed some of her science, but we mainly focused on finishing her math review."
"The student and I reviewed the strategies for solving linear equations (graphing, substitution, and elimination). He will practice with graphing and elimination in order to get a better understanding of using these methods."
"This was a good session. The student completed her unfinished homework assignments. She worked with polynomial long division and simplification and polynomial division, multiplication, and addition. We then reviewed polynomial simplification techniques. To avoid errors or unsimplified answers, we continuously asked ourselves questions such as: Can a constant or expression be divided into these terms? Can we reduce by multiplying by 1(i.e. a/a, 4/4,(x+2)/(x+2))? If our problem is an equation (containing an equal sign), can we evenly divide all of its terms by some constant or expression? The student again seemed to work well independently with few errors."
"This was a special session to prep the student for a test. I think he has internalized some of the lessons and is catching himself when he makes a mistake."
