"The student worked on several pages of his math book on topics that included multiplication, borrowing, carrying, and counting money. He did a very good job today! Toward the end of the session we played a short game of chess."
"This session the student worked on finishing up English homework on vocabulary, starting to prepare notes for her large science exam, and practicing one step equations for her test on Monday. We prepared notes on the math rules for her to study as well as practiced more problems. I have suggested that she get online and work on practice problems with her math website. Some suggested practice sections are T1-T5; C1-C9. Go over chapter problems that have answers in the back of the book. She is staying positive and is working really hard."
"During this session we went over the student's extra credit assignment. No major issues, the only major flaw I saw was that he needs to review his rules on exponents with binomials. We finished off the session working on related rates questions. Overall this session went well."
"In this session, we practiced more implicit differentiation in preparation for a test the student has coming up. We went over all the problems in the textbook, and I made up some challenging problems! He understands the concept, but was making a couple small mistakes along the way (forgetting to write a y' when he derived y every single time). However, when I would point to a step, and ask him what was wrong, he would realize immediately. If he focuses during his quiz, he should have no problem!"
"We went over several sections from chapter 4 - applications of the derivative. We worked on finding critical points, local maxes and minimums, inflection points, concavity, increasing/decreasing. As usual, a good focused session."
"The student worked on some homework problems that she had. They all had to do with sequences and series. There were partial series and the sum of partial series as well as a question about telescoping series and multiple questions about geometric series."
