Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through some more logic games. He is able to make inferences quite well, but I've encouraged him to be more comfortable using "brute force" trial and error methods when he's unable to obtain the answer through inferences."
"We practiced distribution and selection games. We focused on diagramming and initial deductions. We discussed increasing comfort with games that don't have a set number of variables in a category and the value of making as many deductions in the setup as possible to narrow options in subsequent questions."
"Today we mostly reviewed the student's essay but also touched on the importance of trying to pre-phrase to get his mind in "detective mode" before looking at the answers. I reminded him to focus on answers that stay within the scope of the stimulus, and if there is a pre-phrase, those that closely match the pre-phrase. For our next session, we will review any questions he has."
