Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I switched to some math problems. We did a lot of algebra work and I helped her with order of operations and combining like terms and simplifying equations. I tried to help her visualize a number line with zero in the center. We finished the day by working on problems with exponents. She took to that easily and will finish the packet on her own."
"Integration by parts partial fractions (most difficult) improper integrals u-substitution converging and diverging integrals The student is an incredibly sharp young woman who is clearly motivated and capable. She only struggles with the most difficult problems and she works very quickly. She left with the intention of working on her homework set and we will review any problems she encounters at our next session."
"We continued working through the student's packet today. We began by reviewing last session, then spent most of our time on the quadratic formula. She did very well, and was able to apply the formula when necessary. Overall she is definitely getting better at finding patterns and solving problems. I'm very happy with her progress"
"In today's session we covered ratios and compared them to fractions. We worked through several example problems and looked for real world examples. We also continued working through a standardized test in individual sessions. We are making good progress in hitting the necessary concepts for testing this spring."
"Today the student completed his math assignment on combining like terms and evaluating expressions at specific values for variables. He did a great job today. Good work today!"
"The student had already started his homework. All he had to finish was half a page of math boxes. It was practice for adding fractions and changing improper fractions into mixed numbers. He wasn't very confident with any of the problems at first, but once I showed him an example for each one, he was fine following along on his own. We spent the last 10-15 minutes reviewing his multiplication tables."
