Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed factoring, including MARF. The student needs to go over identifying potential simplifications, and also setting up division with polynomial denominators."
"We went through a makeup test that the student was completing. Topics included inequalities, systems of equations and graphing various types of functions."
"The session with the student focused on performing multiplication and addition of polynomial expression. She quickly understood the underlying concepts and easily worked through several questions. We also went through Chapter 19 of her biology coursework that focused on the different domains of the biological ecosystem."
"I covered solving systems of equations graphically with the student; solving systems of equations by elimination and substitution."
"I was asked to be a last-minute substitute for the student. She had a test the next day on two sections. The first section was graphing with horizontal and vertical asymptotes and determining domain and range. The second section was multiplying polynomials and canceling appropriate factors and powers. She had a very interesting way of plotting points by specifically looking to force her fraction denominators to be 1 and -1. She had trouble with asymptotes, but I explained the rules. I also taught her about x and y intercepts. As for the second section, we went over a way to factor more complex quadratics that she really liked."
"The student has a weekly packet she worked on today. She took a test and she worked on her take home part of the test today."
