Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student had a worksheet to complete on simplifying fractions. I showed her how to use prime factorization to determine the GCF or to take an iterative approach by dividing out any common factor. She is doing better after today's session."
"Worked with student on his Chapter 7 material, in preparation for his test on Thursday. In the first 45 mins of the session, he had gained a scope of understanding, which was wonderful. The material covers similar polygons and the properties thereof. There are many theorems and postulates that illustrate the points, but teaching them to the student with practice seems to be most effective. We can hone in on his skills in the Wednesday session, in time for the test on Thursday."
"Covered homework problems on finding the arc length of a function, and solids of revolution. Solids of revolutions are what the student needs help on the most. The student was able to grasp most of explanations. Advised student to work on finishing the exam worksheet."
"The student and I went over reading and math tonight. She was very good at sounding out words she did not know, and paid close attention. She was more enthusiastic about reading than math, but did a fine job at math as well."
"The concept we focused on today was finance literacy. We worked on distinguishing the difference between gross income and net gross as well as calculating taxes. Today's session went very smoothly and the student was able to grasp the concept of finance."
"Today the student did her math homework, which was a set of word problems that used a mix of multiplication, division, and geometric shapes. After the homework was completed, we read from the Sleeping Beauty book."
