Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we reviewed for the student's test. We went over verb conjugating, comparatives, direct and indirect objects, and pronouns. I saw her last quiz and it was a 99%! I am very happy how far she is coming along!"
"We reviewed her bilingual books and then talked about feelings. We read the last book about how we feel. We then tried to play Scrabble Jr. in Spanish. The student was reminded that she needs to be practicing her Spanish on her own if she would like to make improvements. Next time we work on Spanish, the student will begin a new workbook with new vocabulary to focus on."
"The student and I reviewed her food vocabulary and conjugation of simple verbs like gustar, comer, etc. We also read more in the Pobre Ana book. She needs to practice speaking the Spanish language and listening more, so I plan to work on that with her next week."
"We went over the student's writing section of her test and I explained to her the reasons her teacher deducted some points. We started studying "se impersonal" and "se pasivo". She worked on some exercises on her Spanish class website."
"We started this session by reviewing the student's homework. She told me the five most important things in her life and why. She is becoming more fluid in her conversations skills. After that I had her practice the verb "gustar" and similar verbs with a worksheet. She did very well."
"Today we reviewed ir + a + infinitive in the present through workbook activities and spontaneous conversation. Other general skills that we worked on included using cognates and context clues to understand written material in Spanish as well as improving pronunciation and fluency by reading newspaper material aloud. For next session we will review demonstrative adjectives and pronouns and the student will bring in a newspaper article of interest for us to apply that grammatical concept to."
