Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is currently studying geometry. The class is identifying parallel and perpendicular lines as well as angles and segments. She needed help a bit to use the protractor correctly, so we measured some angles and she now knows how to use it accurately. We previewed the rest of her chapter and she completed some of her homework exercises."
"The student and I took the time today to review things like geometry. He did not have anything pressing to get done, so he was much more relaxed and able to absorb all the information. Overall the session was very beneficial."
"The student's math homework this week was pretty light, and focused mostly on telling time. He did a great job with the time telling, showing a much higher level of comfort with it than last week. He also did a great job with the coin-adding review. He finished all of his math homework and then did a bit of spelling, and answered some questions about the story of St. Patrick's Day."
"The student's homework was reviewed. We also reviewed for an upcoming test. The areas that were reviewed included division, angles, angle measurement, prime and composite numbers, fractions (addition and subtraction), equivalent fractions, and simplifying fractions. He was very positive during this session. He was confident in his work. When asked if there were areas that he was concerned about or felt he needed additional help with, he stated that he was comfortable with all of the areas covered."
"The student and I read 3 chapters of Michael Phelps book (reading comprehension and fluency), worked on sight words, and used electronic flashcards and Bingo focused on multiples of 0, 1, 2, 5 (through 5x5) and 10. I left him with math homework."
"It was great working with this student today and getting to know him a bit. I helped him set up a Google Docs account to help with his writing and homework. We also decided to focus on helping him with his multiplication facts to start. I gave his mom a number of websites that he could use to help him with his math facts to start. He is cooperative and did a great job his first session."
