Today the student and I continued the beginning of our sessions with reviewing and checking his home work. After checking his homework, we worked through more problems together to make sure he fully understands solving these types of equations.

I coached and quizzed the student through a test review worksheet for tomorrow's Math test. I left her with one more problem to finish and a few vocab questions to clarify. I briefed her parents before leaving. Our next session will be next Monday.

Tutoring review by Kyle in Latham, NY
I met with the student tonight to help her with preparations for Monday's test. We mostly focused on her homework problems that required usage of De Moivre's formula to find the result of a complex number (a + bi) being raised to an exponent. Then she did problems that used the same formula to determine the roots of unity for a complex number. We also did one problem involving a geometric interpretation of roots of unity. Along the way, I tried to provide little tips to make the required conversions more simple. To make it a proper review session, we finished with a few problems from our last session. There wasn't really anything that mystified her, and the hardest time she had was how those conversions didn't immediately unravel themselves for her.

Tutoring review by Aaron in Latham, NY
We reviewed for the student's test tomorrow on magnetism, magnetic induction, and alternative energy. Besides the right hand rule, much of what we did was qualitative descriptions of the concepts. Other parts of the review involved some calculations, but she already felt comfortable with that. The student is good about asking questions when she doesn't feel comfortable with something.

Tutoring review by Elnora in Latham, NY
We had a great initial session! She shared the syllabi associated with her two classes related to strategy and leadership, and developed a "game plan" in order to address the requirements, any of her concerns, and work towards a successful outcome. We reviewed the initial assignments that were due, first focusing on the leadership paper. I provided her with guidelines related to how to break down the components of the paper in order to make it more manageable. We also discussed the topic related to leadership strengths and weaknesses, and several potential ideas that she could include in the paper. We had the opportunity to discuss the cases that would be covered in the strategy class, and which companies may be good to focus on in order to meet the requirements associated with "discussion question" assignments. Her continued work in between sessions is to create draft items and I will be willing to review anything she completes.
