Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student read through the history of her assigned musician online. As she read/translated it for comprehension, she took notes in preparation for writing an essay."
"I met with the student to continue working on his Spanish worksheet. We went over: a) Direct & Indirect Object Pronouns - We went over this thoroughly and completed all of the exercises on his Spanish class worksheet. b) I explained to him how to use these object pronouns attached and detached from the verbs. c) I explained the commands with these object pronouns and the applicable accent rules. d) We did several exercises using other Spanish grammar books I brought. e) We covered location adverbs ["here, there, over there"ù - "aqui, alli, alla], and f) Irregular stem-changing verbs and their correct usage. I gave him HW to do: Irregular stem-changing verbs and their English meaning and irregular commands. He has to do Flashcards for Direct, Indirect Obj Pronoun Commands & Accent Rules plus Irregular Preterite Verbs. We also discussed geography of Latin American countries and how their seasons, holidays and school year are different from ours. We covered meanings of an island, an isthmus, and peninsula, and gave him Latin American country examples of each. He is extremely happy because he understands everything I am teaching him. His father is also pleased with our progress. We shall see his progress in this upcoming semester, since I started his tutoring sessions on the day before his Spanish Final Exam. I am confident his school grade for Spanish shall improve. He is focused and is giving his very best during our sessions."
"We started by reviewing vocab. She knew some of them but needs to review. Then we did present and past tense verb conjugations. She needs to practice those too but was catching on."
