Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In my first session with the student we went over her homework assignment for Algebra 2, which included solving and graphing growth/decay and inverse functions. She is a very methodical and careful worker, and is clearly motivated to excel in algebra. I feel it is so important for her to master the basic concepts before moving on, and to address this, I will make a worksheet for her to work on during our next session. The purpose of this is to reinforce the basic concepts. She clearly has the determination to master algebra."
"We completed a review sheet on derivation methods and techniques. The student understands the calculus very well. Any more questions regarding these topics will be discussed further in our session tomorrow."
"The student had a review sheet for a test coming up on Tuesday. It was mostly working with exponential and logarithmic functions. There were graphing problems, solving equations, using properties, and word problems. She felt she had a good grasp of the material."
"The student has his examination on Tuesday so today was a great day to review some of the topics we have covered over the last couple of months. I pulled up the end of semester review I created for him last year and we just began doing practice problems. We first went over some prime factorization with factor trees, then moved on to discuss inequalities. I will send him a compilation of practice problems to do over the weekend and we will review again on Monday!"
"The student and I covered double and triple integrals in Cartesian and polar coordinates, as well as Riemann sums for his test review. He has a good understanding of the material and is developing great test taking strategies."
"The student worked on homework that covered the distance formula, reflections over the y axis, x axis, the line y=x and also y=k and x=k. He also worked on problems that covered the principles of translations, translating both the x and y variables of polygons."
