"Good to see this student again. During this session, we focused on hyperbolas. This included the transformations of hyperbolas and the deduction of formulas from related parameters, such as asymptotes and foci. He is getting the material, I believe. We will see him again soon!"
"The student was kind enough to forward me a copy of his quiz so that we were on the same page: the first three were all building towards usage of vectors, the fourth was another LDU factorization of a matrix, and the fifth was applying constraints on a column of results so that a system was solvable. After solving #4, we showed that L is only a transposition of U when the original matrix is symmetric. We did some good work with orthogonal decomposition of a vector. I have a picture of next week's quiz in preparation for next Friday."
"This was the first session with this student and my first impression is that he really knows his math. The chapter he is on now is probability and statistics which is a different animal. He had a review packet so we went through that and worked different examples to kind of find out where his issue were and I think he is in a better place now. One thing I did notice is he uses his calculator a lot, which is good that he has the mastery of it, but I don't know where he stands without it."
"The student and I finished up with geometry and began a new section on percentages, interest, etc. I am seeing her again next Monday and Tuesday, so we can finish the assignment and so she can prepare for her midterm."
"During this session I worked with the student on reading. We practiced with reading fluency. He is reading instructional and independently on a level I or J. He needs assistance on reading on a higher level. I will continue to bring leveled texts for him to increase his reading level."
"The student worked on the 7th and 8th grade worksheets. She almost finished one of the 8th grade worksheets. She worked on solving word problems, finding speed, work with decimals, scientific notations, rules of division, and multiplication of powers."
