Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished up the review packet from our last session. This included reviewing special triangles, chords, and arc lengths."
"We continued our work from Monday. I had the student do several distance formula and slope problems from scratch, and we also looked at another one of his review packets in preparation for his final test tomorrow."
"I finished helping the student prepare for her geometry and biology final on Friday. We started with geometry, covering topics and questions over vectors (direction, magnitude, naming them, and adding them), as well as similar triangle problems and finally, special right triangles (30-60-90 and 45-45-90). She picked up the vectors very quickly and was doing them on her own in no time. We then moved on to biology. She'd already finished the study guide for biology and just wanted some extra help on Punnett square problems (genetics). We did the ones in her study guide together and then did the multi-concept Punnett squares from the book. We did many practice problems of all types--dihybrid crosses, solving genotypes of original parents, sex-linked, multi-traits, etc.--and she felt prepared by the end."
" We did a last review for his final. We focused on basic trig functions and arcs/inscribed angles. The student had no problems dealing with trig functions and was able to handle all problems concerning it with no assistance. With arcs and inscribed angles the student needed to see the formulas first before attempting any problems. Once he was able to see the formulas, the student was able to handle the problems presented to him with little assistance. I presented him a sheet showing all formulas needed for anything concerning arcs and inscribed angles. He takes the final on Tuesday."
"The student and I met for her last session and I believe that she is well prepared for her final exam. It has been wonderful to tutor her!"
"We worked on lateral areas. The student had trouble combining that with base areas, but he had it by the end."
